Limerick Veterinary Hospital accepts emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. During normal office hours, please call ahead so we can prepare for your arrival. We can also suggest immediate first aid measures. Our facility is equipped for digital radiology, ultrasound, oxygen support and blood analysis to aid in diagnosis. Your pet will be triaged upon arrival and based on those findings, it will be determined if they need immediate attention or will have a brief wait before being seen.
When calling after hours, you will speak with someone who is capable to answer your questions, or they will have the veterinarian on-call contact you to discuss your pet’s medical issue.
The following is a list of some situations that are considered an emergency and your pet should be seen immediately:
Any Respiratory distress
Straining to urinate
Severe and Prolonged Vomiting
Pale Mucous Membranes or tongue
Rapid or Slow Heart Rate
Prolonged or Continuous Seizure
